Women Against Violence Art Exihibit and Cocktail Reception

Women Against Violence will celebrate "Empowerment" a special art exhibit where art and healing meet. Wednesday, June 16, 2010 6 – 9 pm Greenhouse Café 7717 Third Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11209 Tickets are $100 per person. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Women Against Violence. Enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres meet exhibit artists and preview their winning artwork to be featured in the 2011 Women Against Violence calendar. Valet parking available. Women Against Violence WAV is a Brooklyn-based 501c3 violence prevention organization. Established in 1999 their mission to empower women and their families to stay free of violence. WAV provides ongoing individual counseling, support group services, education and prevention programs free to the community.

12th Annual Race Against Violence Run/Walk

Join us for our annual Race Against Violence 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at 10 a.m. The event will begin and end at the John Paul Jones Park at 101st Street and 4th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY.
Pre-registration fee is $15
Registration on the day of the event is $20.
Brooklyn Road Runners Club Members pre-registration fee is $12. Registration now available online!
All donations will benefit Women Against Violence.
Men and women are welcome to participate, awards will be given for runners in each age category.
Check-in and registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The first 150 participants to check in will receive a free gift bag including a T-shirt, POP Chips, Blue Diamond Almonds, and Food Should Taste Good Multi-grain Chips .
After the run/walk all participants will be able to enjoy music, food and kids entertainment courtesty of FUNTASIA.

Women's Self Esteem Group
Every Tuesday and Every Other Wednesday
Join a certified social worker for a weekly support group on how women can improve their self-esteem. Group takes place at Brooklyn Women's Services at 9201 Fourth Avenue. Registration is required, no walk-ins please. For more information call 718.748.1234.
